One of the most lifechanging things I started doing is recognizing things about myself as they happened. Completely mundane things like "oh I guess I'm into this" or "oh this makes me feel anxious". Before, my internal monologue was completely unrelated to things happening to me, almost like depersonalization, and this contributed to having like no real personality to speak of. I simply did not exist as far as I was concerned. Now I get to understand myself better.
